Surly British game show producer Simon Cowell and girlfriend Lauren Silverman happily welcomed little baby Eric into the world last week, but you shouldn't be expecting a wedding anytime soon. According to the latest news, the pair was seen leaving Manhattan's Family Court late yesterday after signing presumed child support papers.
Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman are very proud parents, if not the happiest of couples.
They welcomes their new baby boy Eric Cowell into the world on Valentine's Day, but that hasn't brought the pair any close together romantically.
Simon Cowell has never seemed like a man fit for marriage, or at least not a man who finds marriage a fit, says his closest friends.
Cowell's close friend and business associate Nigel Lythgoe has been quoted by OK! as saying he is fairly sure Simon and Lauren would never ever be married:
"I don't know about the marriage side. [Simon] has never appeared to me to be the marrying type. But he's going to be a very proud [dad], that's for sure."
Sure enough the Lauren and Simon were seen leaving court Wednesday, but not to get a marriage licence.
According to NY Daily News it is likely that the new parents were working out the legal logistics involved with Cowell supporting his new baby mama:
"The couple - who welcomed Eric on Valentine's Day at a luxury suite at Lenox Hill Hospital - were there to get a judge to sign an order of filiation.
"Cowell's reps have said for months that he fully intended to support the baby."
With all of his show X Factor being cancelled, this baby is the last project Simon has growing in the United States.
