Well Vamp fans, we have good news. In a move that has surprised absolutely no one, the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries has officially been renewed for a sixth season. That means we will be seeing Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder for a little while longer. Meanwhile, the show’s star, Nina Dobrev, has been rumored to be dating Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth.
The Vampire Diaries is undoubtedly one of the hottest shows on TV today. So it seems like a no brainer that the series would be picked up for another season. However, the network has now made the sixth season official.
Mark Pedowitz, President of the CW, recently announced the show's renewal, as well as the renewal for several other series:
"This season we've had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. The Vampire Diaries is number two in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they'll have more great drama to look forward to next season."
Meanwhile, the show’s lead starlet, Nina Dobrev, is now rumored to be dating The Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth. PEOPLE recently spoke with Danielle Blair, a woman who spotted Dobrev and Hemsworth at the Corner Tavern in Atlanta over the weekend. Blair told the publication about the pairs outing:
"Nina was sitting on his lap and they were staring into each other's eyes while talking. She spent the whole time only talking to him.
