"No doubt our involvement in NASCAR was a big part of building our brands. We think racing helps grow the sports of hunting and fishing. When you see someone like Tony who has such a huge influence on young people, mostly a good influence, maybe it puts a spark in their heart to spend more time and fish and hunt. That's another reason we invest in the sport," Johnny Morris CEO of Bass Pro Shops.
Stewart has been also affiliated with Bass Pro Shop for years now and has formed a friendship with Mr. Morris. This deal will help the Chevy driving Stewart but his he still requires further sponsorship.
Office Depot were the chief sponsors for Stewart's machine along with Mobil 1. The void left by Office Depot still needs to be plug with the driver still looking for further funding.
For next season Stewart's car will be sponsored in tandem between Bass Pro Shop for 18 races some of which inclubde the Daytona 500 while Mobil 1 cover 11 meetings.
