New Marvel ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Episode and ‘Thor 2: The Dark World’ Crossover WIth Jaimie Alexander Sif [UPDATE]

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is trying hard to regain viewers who fled from the struggling series once they realized that the ship could not hold water. So in a turnaround effort to gain back viewers, the series has decided to take the month of February off. So take that viewer. However, the series does have big things planned for the return in March, including taking us to the "T.A.H.I.T.I.", that magical place and giving us a few very special guest stars, including, Bill Paxton and a crossover with Thor 2: The Dark World’s Jaimie Alexander A.K.A Sif.

S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg gave Marvel fans a mouth full recently when he expressed his opinions about viewers leaving the show, telling reporters:

“Those aren’t geeks. Those are losers. You start to have people like Deathlok showing up; You start to understand that a bunch of these different episodes were connected. A lot of the geeks that I respect most...are very excited about where we’re going. So I’m going to choose to work for them….I guess I don’t mean to say that people who have been frustrated by that discovery period are necessarily losers. I just think they should be, perhaps, a little more patient.”

However, after berating fans for abandoning the show, the show has now abandoned the fans. The show went on an extended hiatus after only airing three new episodes the entire year. Sure the winter Olympics are airing, but that does little to explain why they won't be back for the last week in February after the Olympics end, or why they decided to take a two week break right before the last episode.

When the show does finally come back on the air, they have big things in store. Bill Paxton wil joining the agents in the return episode on March 4. Paxton will be playing comic character John Garret, a cyborg level 7 agent. Writer and executive producer Jed Whedon, recently spoke to MTV about the new character:

"We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger. When Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two."

Thor’s Lady Sif will also be joining the gang in an upcoming crossover episode.
