‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ New Episode Update After Golden Globe Win and Season 2 Rumors

Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the gems to come out of the 2013 fall TV schedule. The show, starring Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg and a well rounded ensemble cast, brought home the Golden Globe award for Best Television Series--Musical or Comedy. Samberg even brought home his own award for Best Actor in a Comedy. With accolades like that coming in, it would not surprise anyone if the show gets picked up for a second season. However, the sadly there is no new episode of the show this week.

Fox hit the jackpot this past fall season with the two new series, supernatural drama Sleepy Hollow and lighthearted cop comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sleepy Hollow received the green light for the second season very early on.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has yet to receive the same treatment, however, it is clear that the network is proud of the show. Fox chairman Kevin Reilly praised the show when announced to the press that show was getting a full season order:

"It's exciting to see that both critics and fans love Brooklyn Nine-Nine as much as we do...With Andy and Andre out in front of this incredible ensemble, it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time."

The show’s ensemble cast includes,Andy Samberg, and Andre Braugher, with Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti and Stephanie Beatriz.

Beatriz recently opened up to Latino Times about her role as the strong and independent female detective Rosa Diaz:

“I love that she's unapologetically badass. There's no back-story trying to explain something horrible that happened to her that explains who she is. No, that's just who she is. She just is this person; no explanation needed. Just like men--when a male character comes on screen and is a badass, you just accept it. And I'm hoping that's what fans do with Rosa. She is who she is and she just doesn't give a s**t.”
