Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23's James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly welcomed their third baby into the world late last month. Their new daughter named Annabel is the couple's third child in as many years. James isn't appearing on Dancing with the Stars in real life just yet, but gets to pretend that he is on a new episode in the ABC sitcom.
Former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly were elated at the arrival of their new baby girl at the end of last January.
The Beek released word of the little girl's arrival via Twitter January 26:
"Outnumbered by kids, outnumbered by girls, outlandishly grateful and thrilled... Watch out world, VDB baby #3 made her debut last night :)"
The couple didn't announce a name in the tweet admits James, because they hadn't even discussed it until the baby was born.
Van Der Beek explained the nuances of their unique naming process, while promoting his most recent film Labor Day on The Talk (via People):
"We felt like we needed to meet [her] first ... and we're just lazy. We had not had a single discussion about a name before the baby was born. I said, 'By the way, do you have a name?' She said, 'Well, only one name came to me.' I said, 'Yeah only one name came to me too.' And it was the same name."
James delivers a slightly more believably version of himself on ABC comedy Don't Trust The B--- In Apartment 23.
The father of three told E! that the exaggerated version of himself that he plays on the show can't help but jump at the first chance he gets to appear on Dances with the Stars, though he has passed in real life:
"The real me has never done Dancing with the Stars but that doesn't mean the Apartment 23 me can't do it. The Apartment 23 version of me a kind of an attention whore...He gets offered Dancing with the Stars and immediately he takes it incredibly seriously.
"I have been asked [before]; I've always been too busy working...I've talked to people who've done it [and] they said it's the craziest thing they've ever done, but it looks like it would be fun."
And if not, it will be fun to watch.
