The Al Hirschfield Theatre will welcome the show "Elf," to its doors come Nov.9. The musical based on the 2003 movie "Elf," by Jon Favreau which is about a grown man acting like an elf (played by Will Farrel in the film) from Santa's workshop living in the real world .
The musical however will star Jordan Gelber who plays "Buddy Hobbs," alongside Leslie Kritzer as "Jovie,"
Other members of the cast include Mitchell Sink as "Michael Hobbs," the younger kid brother of Buddy. Seinfeld's Wayne Knight will play "Santa Claus," Beth Leavel will play as "Emily," the mother of the Hobbs family and the role of "Walter Hobbs, the father of the family was given to Mark Jacoby. Valrie Wright will play "Deb" and Adam Heller has taken on the role of Mr. Greenway. Michael Manley will play as the store manager who hires Buddy.
Casey Nioclaw is the director and choreographer of the production and will be accompanied by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin who are responsible for the music and lyrics along with the Tony award winning team of Bob Martin for "Drowsy Chaperone" and Thomas Meehan who worked on the likes of "Annie," "Hairspray" and "The Producers."
The scenic designer for "Elf," will be handled by David Rockwell. Gregg Barnes will be the costume designer who also has a Tony to his name as well likewise Natasha Katz she however who will be in charge of lighting. Peter Hylenski will be the sound designer, hair and wig will be done by Josh Marquette, Zachary Borovay projections, with Doug Besterman on orchestrations.
"Elf," will also feature some of the cast from the 2010 production of the play.
