NEW YORK- Illusionist David Blaine will stand on a series Tesla coils with a million of volts of electricity flowing through him for three days and nights starting Friday Oct. 5 on Pier 54 in New York City.
The performer has called the event "Electrified: One Million Volts Always On,"
During the stunt the performer will where a chainmail bodysuit to protect him from the current along with a wire helmet and protective eye wear to help safeguard his eyes and ears.
Blaine will also sport a tube for water consumption and to eliminate waste, days prior to the stunt he will be fasting in a hope to limit bodily emissions.
Along with the fasting the performer has been taking time off to spend time with family before his ordeal.
"I'll mostly be relaxing, mediating and playing with my daughter... and trying not to deprive myself of sleep," he said.
The event that will be streamed via Youtube.com by way of Intel and shown in multiple viewing stations in London, Beijing, Toyko and Sydney.
"I don't know how I could ever top this. This is an overly ambitious idea and I'm literally shocked that it came together. This is one of the craziest things that I ever dreamed up, and I don't know how I could go beyond it." Blaine said when speaking at a news conference.
On hand crews will monitor Blaine's performance and will check the illusionist breathing, safety the most pressing issue for the illusionist who has become a father in recent times.
