Reluctant pop-star Britney Spears is having a rough go of her new Las Vegas show "Piece of Me". The Britney Jean singer was caught red handed lip-synching during a recent "performance" of her hit "Stronger", when the mic pack fell off her, revealing that is wasn't really being used. Though her manager quietly released a statement that Spears might be lip-syncing at times, the recent debacle has done little to help her reputation, which has been under fire, since her 2007 head-shaving meltdown.
No one is really surprised that Britney Spears show is now more fluff than substance, after all this is a washed up Disney diva we are talking about.
Spears sexy symbol image has always been the real key to success, and not her talent, or lack thereof.
But since her looks are fading, she is going to have to get better at faking it.
The singer recently had a Milli Vanilli moment in Vegas, when a microphone/ wardrobe malfunction revealed that Britney was completely faking it, the other night according to Celeb Dirty Laundry:
"According to reports, Britney's mic pack came off during one of her 'Piece of Me' Vegas performances, and while it didn't fall of completely, it was enough to discern that she wasn't actually singing. Britney was in the midst of performing to her single "Stronger," when some of her more energetic movements caused the mic to come out of its place, thereby letting the entire audience know that Britney was lip syncing."
While fans that attended were shocked and appalled, they shouldn't have been.
Britney's manger explained to OK! that the star couldn't always sing and dance, because apparently that's unheard of:
"Larry Rudolph confirmed that during songs when Britney is dancing throughout, she'll be accompanied by a vocal track--'but there won't be lip-syncing across the board on anything.'"
So you are better off just watching the old video's on mute, like you did in high school.
