After Cory Monteith Heroin Death, 'Glee' Moves to New York, Gets Banned from UK [UPDATE]

Glee is reportedly planning to move most of the major story lines to New York, following Cory Monteith’s death from a heroin overdose. However, the show won't be heading to the UK anytime soon. A new court order has been issued forcing the show off the airwaves in the UK.

It wouldn’t have surprised anyone if it happened in Russia, but Glee has reportedly been banned from the UK. No, not for being a horrible TV show. They are use to that, after all, they are the same people who brought us Dr. Who.

The show is actually being pulled from the airwaves, because it's too close to the name of a pub.

Mark Tughan, the owner of UK music and comedy venue The Glee Club, has won a case against Fox, effectively having the show banned from the airwaves.

Despite the miscarriage of justice that one would come to expect from a Florida courtroom, Fox has plans to keep fighting. A rep for the network released a statement about the issue:

“We intend to appeal and are confident that, as the case plays out, we will ultimately prevail. We remain committed to delivering Glee to all of its fans in the U.K."

However, who needs the UK when you have the greatest city on the face on the earth? That is right, Glee is moving to New York City. The move had been rumored for months, before it was finally confirmed at the TV Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

The show will be coming to an end soon. Ryan Murphy announced last year to TV Line that the upcoming season will be the last:

“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was--he was in it. I knew what the last line was--she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now. I have a good idea. I’m going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how after Cory’s unfortunate passing we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honor, which I love.”
