Netflix ‘House Of Cards’ Season 2 Air Date; Cast Robin Wright’s Ex Sean Penn and Charlize Theron Relationship Unsets Mom

Netflix hit political thriller House of Cards Season 2 is finally going to be released this month. The air date for all thirteen episodes is set one week from today. Robin Wright, who plays wife to political lion Congressman Frank Underwood on the show, recently announced her engagement to Hollywood newcomer Ben Foster. Her ex-husband Sean Penn and Charlize Theron are making the relationship very public, much to the 'Monster' star's mom's chagrin.

House of Cards, which is kind of like Game of Thrones meets The West Wing, announced that the new season will finally arrive in its entirety Valentine's Day February 14.

And if you loved Frank's ruthless power plays from last season, then you are apparently in for a treat, because according to Netflix's official website, this year should be even wilder than the last:

"In the second season, Francis (Spacey) and Claire (Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara, American Horror Story), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis's former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker's (Michel Gill, The Good Wife) billionaire confidante Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney, Southland) demands that Francis reciprocate political favors or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis's once private existence. The Underwood's must overcome these dangers--past and present--to avoid losing everything, regardless of collateral damage they leave in their wake."

The show's leading lady Robin Wright has decided to settle down with her boyfriend Ben Foster. Wright and her 14-year-younger beau recently announced their engagement after she was spotted around town wearing the ring.

Wright's ex-husband Sean Penn and Charlize Theron's relationship is starting to get serious, but that is exactly what Theron's mom Gerda has allegedly tried to prevent from happening.

A source close to the couple told Star that Gerda is afraid that Sean will eventually break her daughter's heart:

"The South African native if fearful that womanizing Sean will break her daughter's heart. While the protective mama bear has never minded their friendship, sources say she 'begged Charlize not to let it turn romantic.'"

Oh well...moms never like the bad boy boyfriend.
