‘Fast and Furious 7’ News Cast Update: Filming Abu Dhabi, Kurt Russell Likes Steroids, Paul Walker Autopsy Alive After Crash

Universal has Fast and Furious 7 up and running again. The franchise seemed DOA after Paul Walker, whose autopsy showed was still alive immediately following the crash, died in a tragic car accident late last year, but the studio has decided to soldier on. Fast 7 has resumed filming in Abu Dhabi, which is good news for Kurt Russell, a recent addition to the cast, who is dying to get to work on the film. Russell recently commented in an interview to promote his new documentary, that he likes the idea of steroids being used in baseball as long as it's supervised.

Good news for Fast fans, the franchise is back up and running.

After shutting down production for a few weeks while the studio decided how they would best move forward following Paul Walker's demise, scenes for Fast and Furious 7 are actually being filmed once again.

Thanks to Speed.com, we have behind the scenes footage of a Ferrari 458 Italia trying to out from the pursuing police on a roadway somewhere in the United Emirates, Abu Dhabi.

That is the best of news for aging Hollywood icon Kurt Russell, who told Metro that he was ready to get to work just as soon as the script was finished (via Entertainmentwise):

"They're having to rewrite, they're having to do whatever they're having to do to deal with the situation. It's catastrophic. It's the worst thing that could happen to a movie but it's not as bad as what happened to Paul. So everything is in perspective. He was a terrific guy. And life is full of curveballs. It's just a situation that they'll work out and, at that time, I'll go back to work."

Speaking of throwing curveballs, Russell recently opened up to Variety while promoting his new documentary The Battered Bastards of Baseball, about his slightly off center view about the role steroids should play in the MLB (via Gotcha Movies):

"I think that baseball once again is doing something that is taking a line of thought that isn't entirely logical," said Russell. "I have a son who wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for the availability of steroids. I think it was [Jose] Canseco who needed steroids for his back because he had a back. You can't just say willy nilly steroids are a bad thing...if doctors are brought in the scene and it's controlled properly, who's to say over the next 10 years we wouldn't find the proper usage of it."

Looks like co-star Vin Diesel might have just found himself a new connect.
