The good news for Sherlock fans is that the show has been confirmed for a fourth series. However, the bad news is that might take two years for it to come out. However, there is even more good news for fans of the show’s star, Benedict Cumberbatch, as he recently guest starred on a different show. The master actor lent his talents to the long running children's show, Sesame Street. Looks like Tom Hiddleston isn’t the only Brit that has been hanging out with the Muppets.
Sherlock producer and writer, Steven Moffat, recently spoke with IGN about when to expect in Series 4:
"I have no idea...Sue's working on the schedules right now...If people have to wait two years, they'll have to wait two years.”
Wow and we thought we had it bad here in the states having to a wait a few weeks for the Olympics to end.
This would not be the first time that Sherlock has taken two years off. The show took a long hiatus from between series (what we call seasons) two and three. Can you really blame them? After all, each series order of three episodes is an awful lot to produce.
Meanwhile, if you absolutely can't wait to see some more Benedict Cumberbatch, then just tune into PBS. No, the actor won't be guest starring on Downton Abbey. Cumberbatch has been spending some time on Sesame Street.
Benedict recently appeared on the show where he helped the muppets Murray-arty and the Count count apples and oranges.
Meanwhile, other Brit heartthrob Tom Hiddleston has been spending some time with Muppets himself. Hiddleston will star in the new movie Muppets Most Wanted. The offical film synopsis reads:
“Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic "Number Two" Badguy (portrayed byRicky Gervais).”
