‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ Episode 'TRACKS' a Trainwreck, Despite Stan Lee and Deathlok Appearance [EDITORIAL]

This week’s brand new episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., titled “T.R.A.C.K.S.” has gained little ground for the struggling TV series. Despite upping the action, the show is still full of problems. Even Stan Lee and Deathlok couldn't help turn this ship around.

During last night's all new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Mr. Marvel himself, Stan “The Man” Lee, made one of his trademark appearances. In what seemed like a series turn around message to the fans, Lee told an undercover Agent Coulson:

“Now is your chance to do better! Why don’t you see that you take it!”

However, even after parading around Old Man Marvel, and increasing the amount of action, the episode did little to help turn the show around.

Sure the episode did have more Marvel, complete with a super hacky zoom in at the end to let you know that Mike Peterson’s new robo-leg made him a Deathlok.

And it was nice seeing Skye get shot twice, despite everyone and their mothers knowing she is most likely in no real danger. Now be brave enough to actually kill her, and we might have a series on our hands.

Seriously, she is basically in one of those traps they used to put Batman in at the end of one the 1966 series two-parters. Will Skye Die? Tune In Next Week, Same S.H.I.E.L.D. Time and Same S.H.I.E.L.D Day.

Only there is no S.H.I.E.L.D next week, or the rest of this month for that matter.

After the winter break, and taking half of January off, S.H.I.E.L.D. is slowing down the momentum once again. The series will not return until March 4. Granted, most of TV will shut down for the Winter Olympics, however, the games end on Sunday the 23, leaving the last week in February free.

No matter when it comes back on, the show still suffers from the same crappy writing. Sure this episode was a little wittier than most, but you can’t over look how dumb the villains are.

Instead of following the tracks to find the time frozen, Coulson and Ward (you know the place they just froze them), the bad guys decide to comb the local farms to find Agent May in order to find them. Seriously, there people just froze them on the side of the tracks.

Meanwhile, despite knowing that there are still S.H.I.E.L.D agents on board, they decide to still take the train full of heroes to the bad guys anyway. You know, instead of stopping anywhere else in order to get rid of them. Honestly, one of the agents wasn’t even hiding, she was knocked out. How did they not find her?
