It has been a tough few weeks for country artist Trace Adkins. The former Celebrity Apprentice winner checked himself into rehab, after he recently fell off the wagon. Now the singer has tragically lost his father. Understandably, Adkins has reportedly left rehab to deal with the death.
Country music superstar Trace Adkins has just lost his father, Aaron Adkins. Last week, Trace left his Florida rehab facility in order to be with his dad as his condition was worsening.
Following the passing, Traces’ wife Rhonda Adkins Facebooked a message to fans, writing:
“Thank you for all your love, prayers and support.”
Trace Adkins had placed himself in rehab, after he fell off the wagon during a recent country-themed cruise for Norwegian Cruise Lines.
During the cruise, Trace threw away his 12-year-long sober chip when got into a drunken fight with a Trace Adkins impersonator.
Trace was asked to depart the ship at the very next port.
Adkins didn’t waste anytime and checked himself back into rehab. A spokesman for Adkins released a statement to Country Weekly, reading:
“Trace has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism/ As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family’s privacy will be respected."
Adkins spent a stint in rehab back in 2002 for the same alcohol abuse issues. It is unknown if or when Adkins will return to treatment for his addiction with alcohol.
Following Trace checking into to rehab, many fans were greatly upset that he had to cancel a string of upcoming tour dates. Fans on board the ship, who were unaware of the incident, were also very upset at his departure.
Our thoughts are with Trace Adkins and his family. Hopefully, the recent loss of his father won't cause the singer to regress any further.
