New Post Super Bowl Powerball Amount Preview

Did your team get slaughtered in the Super Bowl last night? Well maybe you can turn your luck around this week with the Powerball lottery jackpot, just north of $200 million. For this week's new total, check the special preview below.

The grand jackpot amount for this week's lotto has reached a massive $215 million, with an estimated cash value of $124.1 mil.

The official Powerball website tales the tale of some recent winners:

“Today, Gov. Dave Heineman presented David and Erica Harrig of Gretna a temporary award check for $61.45 million dollars from the Nebraska Lottery Powerball jackpot. The Gretna couple had one of two winning tickets in the nation for last week's $122.9 million Powerball jackpot.”

The Powerball website later adds:

“David Harrig purchased the winning ticket at Speedee Mart in Gretna on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 1:34 p.m. CT. The ticket matched all six numbers from the Dec. 11 Powerball drawing: 1, 10, 13, 18, 19 and Powerball 27. A second jackpot winning ticket was sold in Massachusetts, so the Harrig's share of the prize is split with the Massachusetts's winner, bringing the Harrig's prize to $61.45 million paid out annually over 29 years, or $34.18 million if they select the lump sum cash option.”

The site also urges players to play responsibility:

“Lottery games are just that--games. Lottery games are designed to be enjoyable entertainment for adults, and for the vast majority of lottery players, that's exactly what they are. Multi-State Lottery members sell lottery tickets for the benefits of their citizens, raising millions of dollars for worthy causes and projects. The Multi-State Lottery Association encourages all lottery players to be responsible in their amount of play. Never spend more than you can afford on any lottery product. Please remember, it's just a game.”

Check back in with us on Wednesday for the results of the game. Until then, I’m Brick Dozer. Stay Clasicalite, America!
