Don’t waste your time or the space on your DVR with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC this week. Over at the CW, DC comics and Warner Brothers are doing it right, with the hit series Arrow. In this Wednesday's new episode, Ra's al Ghul’s League of Assassins return. Meanwhile, the Suicide Squad just got a member last week, leaving fans wondering if Task Force X will be getting their own spin-off series.
Things are starting to heat up in Starling City. This week the Batman villain Ra’ ah Ghul’s League of Assassins return to the series.
The official plot synopsis for the episode, titled “Heir to the Demon,” reads:
“Dinah is kidnapped by Nyssa when she refuses to return to the League of Assassins; and Sara considers rejoining the league when she realizes she is putting her family in danger by staying in town. Meanwhile, Laurel continues to unravel.”
Meanwhile, the show is building up the Suicide Squad.
In the comics books, Task Force X, A.K.A. the Suicide Squad, is a group of government sprung super-criminals that are offered their freedom, in exchange for their services on top secret deadly missions.
At the end of the most recent episode, Amanda Waller approached The Bronze Tiger about applying his skills towards the Squad. There have also been many other members of the Suicide Squad already on the show, most notably the assassin Deadshot.
Firefly star Sean Maher recently guest starred as Shrapnel, another member of the Squad. During a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, he revealed that Sharpnel will be joining the Squad on the show:
“I truly didn't understand who Shrapnel or the Suicide Squad were. That was all news to me. I had very limited knowledge of Shrapnel, but Andrew was amazing and forthcoming with a ton of information and pictures and the comics and all that stuff. He was the one who enlightened me.”
