Fans tuned in for the first episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in large numbers, however, those numbers dwindled greatly after fans didn’t like what they saw. Now Agent Coulson, himself, Greg Clark, is blaming the fans for not sticking with the show. Clark went as far as to call Marvel fans losers, for not liking the show.
Greg Clark recently declared his distaste for Marvel fans who stopped watching the show, when he told reporters:
“Those aren’t geeks. Those are losers. You start to have people like Deathlok showing up; You start to understand that a bunch of these different episodes were connected. A lot of the geeks that I respect most...are very excited about where we’re going. So I’m going to choose to work for them.”
However, after releasing that statement, he may have started to alienate fans of the loveable Coulson, with his harsh words. Although, he did take some of the comments back, adding:
“I guess I don’t mean to say that people who have been frustrated by that discovery period are necessarily losers. I just think they should be, perhaps, a little more patient.”
However, Clark owes fans a bit more of an apology. Fans should not be expected to spend 14 plus hours of their lives, sifting through episode after episode of poor writing, bad science, one dimensional characters and hacky dialogue to finally get to the good stuff.
The only people who do have that much free time to devote to a show that they don’t like are entertainment writers and losers with nothing else to do. It is entirely the fault of the show for not maintaining its viewership.
The fans gave you your fair shot, you failed the fans. So go ahead and pull out guest stars and mediocre Marvel characters all you want, but don’t blame the fans if they don’t come back.
After half a season of crap TV and Clark’s harsh comments, can you really blame them.
