Gerard Butler can sometimes get stuck in a rut. The Scottish actor had a name for himself and his abs in 300, a part which seemed to open the door of escape from romantic comedy hell. He seems to have found himself a new prison, inevitably repeating the same character in one action role after another. Thus, we are going to be subjected to Gods of Egypt, an action packed international caper flick. The rest of the cast has been finalized, so Butler's new film about a thief and a god's Egyptian intrigues should start filming any day now.
Gerard Butler is all set to start filming his new film Gods of Egypt, now that the rest of the film's cast has been finalized.
The deals have all been signed and the actors are ready to go according to Just Jared:
"Chadwick Boseman, who was the lead actor in the baseball biopic 42, has joined Gerard, Geoffrey Rush, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Brenton Thwaites in the star-studded cast."
Not only is Butler no amateur when it comes to heading an action picture, he has also been to Africa a time or two.
The 44-year-old recently took the time to give back to the less fortunate. He traveled to Liberia for Mary's Meals in order to bring food and much needed supplies to people that might otherwise starve.
Butler, who has been working with the organization which feeds more than 800,000 children every single day for years, isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, when he comes to visit (via OK! Magazine):
"Gerard, 44, pitched in with cooking, loaded bags of rice into cans, planted pepper seeds and pineapples, and danced with the villagers."
If only his movie roles where as well rounded.
