The Seattle Seahawks may have mopped the floor with the Denver Broncos last night, but the real Super Bowl winners were fans of the Transformers film series. The official trailer for the highly anticipated next installment, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, finally debuted last night and it was well worth the wait. The new footage had more action than the entire big game. From the first appearance of the long awaited Dinobots, including an awesome looking Grimlock and a two headed dragon/pterodactyl. We caught of glimpse of what appears to be the Megatron upgrade, Galvatron, killing off Optimus Prime.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the Super Bowl was the movie trailers. In addition to a new look at Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier and Robocop, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction finally made its debut.
After months of waiting, the new trailer was definitely a crowd pleaser. However, the short clip may have given away some major spoilers.
Mainly, we see a decepticon, who looks an awful lot like the resurrected Megatron form Galvatron, shooting down Optimus Prime, leaving many to believe that he may die in the new film.
This is not the first time that we have heard talk of Optimus Prime dying. Earlier in the year, a clip of the film was leaked showing Mark Wahlberg saying his goodbye to Prime. In the leaked video, Prime can be heard saying:
"There remains a price on my head, and I risk endangering you if I stay. Cade when you find the remaining stones, mark one as my soul. Defend this family Autobots, as they have you, goodbye, don't forget me."
