There are bound to be a lot of great ads airing during the Super Bowl tonight, but Jaguar probably has the baddest. The company is hiring some of the best villains in the business for it’s #GoodToBeBad campaign. The British-born car company has gathered some of Britain's baddest boys to help them take over the big game, including: Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Iron Man's The Mandarin (Sir Ben Kingsley) and Green Lantern's Sinestro (Mark Strong).
Lets face it, good guys are overrated. Everyone loves a smooth talking British badboy.
Jaguar knows this and has decided to capitalize on the worlds love of all things villainous, by hiring some of Hollywood’s best baddies to help them take over the Superbowl.
The car company has sought out the help of Tom Hiddleston, Sir Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong, each known for playing famous film villains, to head up their all now #GoodToBeBad campaign.
Jeff Curry, Jaguar North America’s Brand Vice President, sat down with The New York Times about hiring some of the baddest guys in the business:
“We approach it from a humble standpoint. It’s our first time on this stage, the biggest stage we can stand on. You’re making a big investment, from a marketing standpoint. We’re going to give it a good shot…You’re out there on the Super Bowl stage with no net.”
Recently our very good friends over at the Free Loki solo movie campaign took a minute to praise Jaguar’s decision on Twitter.
Jaguar reps were even nice enough to answer them back. Here is a copy of their exchange:
“@JaguarUSA @JaguarUK Love the #BritishVillains #GoodToBeBad theme, but would love #JasonIsaacs & #SeanBean included. AGREE w/ @twhiddleston”
“@Free_Loki we aren't afraid to grow our ranks, but one #BritishVillain at a time. #GoodToBeBad”
“@JaguarUSA LOL, awesome (reason #582 to love Jags). Let me know if you need more suggestions ;) coughFassbendercough”
