After being attacked by Nancy Grace, Joe and Teresa Giuidice are facing even more heat over a number of fraud charges. New documents reveal that the prosecution has moved to deny Teresa a separate trial from her husband.
Things appear to be moving from bad to worse with the Real Housewives of New Jersey family. Not only are they facing 40 plus charges of fraud, the prosecution wants to try the couple jointly.
Radar Online claims to have obtained official court documents that reveal federal prosecutors don't want Teresa to be represented separately from her husband:
"Teresa and [Joe] appear to share the hope that each may have a better chance of acquittal in a separate trial. This, however, is not sufficient basis to sever two defendants charged as participants in the same conspiracy and fraudulent scheme."
The federal prosecutors didn't stop there. They also took a swipe at the Giudice's failing marriage, when they petitioned the court:
"Teresa"s decision as to whether to testify might be a difficult one under the circumstances, although this is only guesswork given her failure to make any proffer as to what she might say and how it might impact her husband. Even if so, however, such difficulty does not infringe upon a fundamental right, and it manifestly does not require the Court to hold two separate trials on identical offenses for the sake of preserving marital harmony. Defendants' motion on this basis thus must be denied."
The Giudices can't even catch a break when it comes to delusional talking head Nancy Grace. When the talk show host was last flapping her jaws, she told audiences that she believes Teresa and Joe are as guilty as sin:
"I think [Teresa and Joe] were in it together and you know what? You can get away with shoplifting, maybe stealing a car but don't mess with the feds when it comes to money. Never mess with the tax man. Never mess with the feds alright? They have no mercy. I predict they're going down. Much as Martha Stewart was used I think they will be used as an example to other people."
What do you think about the prosecution's actions? Do you think the Giudices are guilty?
