'GMA' Gay Robin Roberts Cancer Saved Her Life; Engaged Girlfriend Amber Laign Pregnant?

When Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts was first diagnosed with cancer, it certainly felt like a hammer blow, but a little over one year later she considers it a blessing that served as the catalyst for her new lease on life. Having faced down death, Robin could no longer keep herself from introducing her long-time girlfriend Amber Laign to the world. Now that the happy couple is out there, there is talk that soon they will be engaged and pregnant, if they aren't already.

After a lifetime in the closet, Robin Rivers has decided to live the rest of her life to the absolute fullest.

The 53-year-old television personality is so happy to be taking control of her life that she thinks of her bout with cancer as a blessing, instead of a curse.

A source close to the Roberts told Star that she is able to see her disease as a passage way to the life she always wanted:

"Robin says getting sick was the best thing that ever happened to her, because she got a second chance at life. She wants to make the most of it."

And Roberts has big plans for this new second chance. According to Star, an insider close to the couple said you shouldn't be surprised if soon we hear wedding bells:

"Robin made sure Amber was totally comfortable about becoming a public person. The next step will be the announcement or their engagement--and then a glorious wedding. They're totally devoted to each other."

But that is only the half of it. Roberts and Laign are looking forward to having a baby in the coming year, according to reports in OK! Magazine:

"Robin wants to make the most of her second chance at life. The plan is for Amber to carry the baby-and they've already picked the donor."

Seems like a lot to do in a year, but Roberts has spent enough planning to know what she wants.
