The Elder Scrolls game franchise is one of the most highly-acclaimed series in the industry. The next installment in the series is the long awaited, Elder Scrolls Online. Like most other MMO’s out today, the game will require a monthly fee to play, however, it has just been announced that Sony’s Playstation 4 gamers will not need a PS Plus subscription to play the game. Meanwhile, a brand new trailer has just been released.
The new Elder Scrolls Online game might cost players a whopping $14.99 monthly subscription fee to play, but there is some good news for your wallets. The Sony PS4 version of the game will not require a PS Plus account to play. Matt Firor, Bethesda’ game director, made the announcement via the PlayStation Blog:
"A PlayStation Plus membership is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online. PS4 players will only be required to pay the same monthly subscription associated with The Elder Scrolls Online that PC and Mac users will pay--nothing more."
The company is also trying to do the same for the Microsoft Xbox One version of the game.
Pete Hines, Bethesda’s vice president of PR and marketing, recently spoke with OXM about trying to make the deal with Microsoft:
"Having said that, we have been in talks with Microsoft about that very thing, and seeing whether or not there's any room to change their minds about that. For folks who are only paying [sic] The Elder Scrolls Online and don't want to pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription, just to pay [sic] the Elder Scrolls Online."
Meanwhile, a brand new trailer for the game has just been released. Check out the amazing video, that puts pretty much anything DC has put in the last few years, to shame, here.
Do you want to see Microsoft drop the Xbox Gold fee or is it something you will be paying anyway?
