‘Sleepy Hollow’ Promotes John Noble to Series Regular for Season 2 [SPOILERS]

Sleepy Hollow was, without a doubt, one of the best shows of the new TV season. The supernatural drama ranks right up there with NBC’s The Blacklist as surprise hits of 2013. Now that the series has been confirmed for a second season, they are promoting two cast members to series regulars, including Fringe star John Noble. Season One Spoilers Follow!

The supernatural and somewhat biblical drama Sleepy Hollow has just gotten even better. John Noble and Lyndie Greenwood have officially been promoted to regular cast members for the second season.

Fanboys flipped out when Noble first appeared as the Sin Eater. At the time, Noble spoke with USA Today about the character:

"He's like the sage, the elder statesman who gets brought in rather reluctantly and agrees to help. I have to sense there's a connection with Ichabod that will play out. Both are complex men with big secrets, and both have a certain charm about them...He has the ability to remove evil from a person in a sense, so hence the name The Sin Eater. Even though he doesn’t want to, he’s called into action basically to save Ichabod’s life.”

However, we learned the truth about Noble’s character during the season finale. It was revealed that the Sin Eater was really Ichabod Crane’s son Jeremy, A.K.A. the Horseman War.

Sleepy Hollow executive producer Roberto Orci recently spoke with TV Guide about their plans for the character:

“We knew that really early--in the first few episodes or maybe even before we started. We knew it at the planning stages. We wanted to make sure John knew he was going to be involved in something juicy and to make sure that--because he's such a talented actor--that he'd be playing things on repeat viewings that you'd understand that he had it in his mind. You can actually see that if you watch some of the earlier episodes again with that knowledge.”
