The Flash series is hitting the ground running. It was recently revealed that Law and Order’s Jessie L. Martin has been cast as Detective West. Now it has been revealed that a few villains have also been cast. The Vampire Diaries star Rick Cosnett has reportedly been cast as The Reverse Flash, Professor Zoom. The show is rumored to have cast Danielle Panabaker as the villainess Killer Frost. Meanwhile, in the comic universe, the leader of the Flash’s rogues gallery, Captain Cold, is joining the Justice League along with Lex Luthor.
The Arrow spin-off series, The Flash, is one of the most highly anticipated new shows coming out. Grant Gustin’s guest spot on Arrow proved so successful that the CW decided to skip on the planned backdoor pilot and move ahead with a traditional standalone one.
Now the series is on a casting spree. Rent star Jessie L. Martin has been cast as Detective West, father of Flash love interest, Iris West.
Now that Flash’s supporting cast is coming together, it is time for the villains to gather. The Vampire Diaries’ Rick Cosnett has reportedly been cast as Detective Eddie Thawne, A.K.A. the Reverse Flash.
Necessary Roughness actress Danielle Panabaker has also been cast as Caitlin Snow, A.K.A. Killer Frost.
Meanwhile, in the comics, the leader of the Flash’s rogues gallery, Captain Cold, is turning over a new leaf. Captain Cold will be joining the Justice League alongside legendary Superman villain Lex Luthor.
DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer Geoff Johns spoke about the decision to have the villains switch sides in a press release:
"The Justice League is going to go through a lot of changes, obviously, in the wake of Forever Evil, A lot of the blame can be put on their shoulders for what has happened: They were infiltrated and they fought each other and that led to the unleashing of the Crime Syndicate and the evil that took over the world."
