L'Elisir d'Amore had a strong show of support as the 19 century by Donizetti work of art had premiered this September at the Metropolitan Opera House. The politically charged play almost two in one opera according to director Bartlett Sher. Who has casted Anna Netrebko, Matthew Polenzani, Mariusz Kwiecien and Ambrogio Maestri as leading figures.
The Metropolitan will be offering the Donizetti piece from September 18 to October 13 so there is not much time to see this show piece. While at the Manhattan Opera house, Turnadot can be a favorable choice as it runs in tandem with L'Elisir d' Amore. Viewing of this classic can be seen September 26
Fans can look forward to Carmen by Georges Bizet on also running alongside L'Elisir d'Amore and Giacomo Puccini's Turnadot. Carmen will get under away September 27. Not to be excluded is Il Trovatore. Guiseppe Verdi's work will round off a fine week of viewing at the Met as a double header on September 29 playing alongsideTurnadot.
With such excellent viewing should bring out the very knowledgeable New York crowd. The Metropolitan had a great time with Donizetti's piece last year as well so will look for good numbers as the season for classical gets under way. Celebrities have already made the rounds at the Met. The New York Knicks Amar'e Stoudemire was in attendance as well as New York Rangers Henrik Lundqvist also had been sighted. Star Trek's Patrick Stewart also made an appearance to the Met so far with the season just getting under way they will be more to follow.
