After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, Season 17 Bachelor Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici wrapped up their reality television courtship with a live wedding. Not every minute of the 2014 event of the year could be televised, however, and we have the scoop of some the things that you couldn't see on TV.
There was no way that all the people who would have liked to have been at Sean and Catherine's wedding could get an invitation, but it turns out they were better off watching at home.
Not only was the night a chilly 56-degrees, there was a lot of down time, which caused the stress director to continually break the fourth wall, cheapening the illusion of an everyday superficial Hollywood wedding.
The breaks for advertisers also prevented all of Sean's dad, who officiated the ceremony, from getting all his prayers on the air, according to CNN:
"The majority of the ceremony aired on TV, though part of it continued through a commercial break, as Jay led the guests in a prayer for Sean and Catherine. 'We pray, Father, that you will strengthen their love day by day,' he said, adding that he hoped for them to live as 'ambassadors for Christ.'"
The director, who kept shouting during the off-air moments, all most lost it when the ceremony wasn't long enough to fill the two hours allotted. An eyewitness at CNN recounted the ridiculous display:
"After Sean and Catherine were declared man and wife and the processional filed back down the aisle, the director's voice rang out: 'How much time do we have to kill?'...The director informed us that we should move into the aisle and 'mingle' so that Chris Harrison could interview JP and Ashley on camera about the beautiful celebration of reality TV romance they had just witnessed."
Have you ever heard of a more magical evening?
