This Week's Mega Millions Lotto Sneak Peak, Grab Your Tickets Today Before It Gets Too Cold

While we might be in the grips of a second polar vortex, the Mega Millions lottery is heating up. Check this week's sneak peak below to see if it's worth braving the snow to grab yourself a ticket.

The Mega Millions lottery has reached the new $71 million, with an estimated cash value of $39 mil.

The official Mega Millions website tells the stories of several small scale winners, including:

“January 21, 2014 - When Ysmaille Castor found an old Mega Millions ticket from last year under his microwave he decided to play the numbers again, hoping for better luck. The Waldorf, Md., man certainly found his luck on Friday night – to the tune of $1 million.

Ysmaille, who is a bus driver in Washington, DC, decided to check his ticket on Saturday to see if he had won this time around. That’s when he noticed that he had matched five out of six numbers, which equated to a $1 million win.”

As well as:

“January 17, 2014 - Clarence Wright, a postman from Greensboro, N.C., plans to use the $1 million prize he won playing Mega Millions to pay off his home and save for the future. Wright’s Quick Pick ticket matched all five white balls in Tuesday’s drawing, which were 4-23-26-62-69. The lucky ticket, which beat odds of 1 in 18.4 million, was sold at the Spartan BP on South Aycock Street in Greensboro.”

“January 2, 2014 - The Arizona Lottery announces that a Mesa resident has claimed the $1 million second place Mega Millions prize from the Christmas Eve drawing Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013.

This is the second $1 million Mega Millions second prize winning ticket sold in Arizona since the Mega Millions game was redesigned in October.

We will see you Tuesday night with winning numbers.
