Kevin Bacon’s ‘The Following’ Killer Return Ratings and New Episode Air Date

Fox’s hit cult horror drama The Following has returned to killer ratings. However, can the Kevin Bacon show maintain the same after it moves to its regular air date this week?

Last week, the second season of Fox’s The Following returned on a special night and time. On the heels of major league NFL football, the season premiere brought in an impressive 33 million viewers.

However, the show will be moving to its regular night and time next week when it takes over Sleepy Hollow’s time slot on Monday night at 8.p.m.

However, just like in the Sunday night special, expect a lot more blood and gore this season on the show. Kevin Williamson, The Following creator and executive producer, recently opened up about the series' violent tendencies the recent Winter TV Tour:

“I don’t shy away from violence. But I also never, ever just want to be gore for the sake of gore. It’s always to shock and push the story forward and make you gasp, and also make you truly be afraid and truly be scared of these characters and the situation. And so it really is just what the situation, what the story line, calls for. I don’t really see that it’s gory. I guess it’s subjective. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer. But I like a little violence, sorry.”

Do you think that The Following will resume its hit status now that it's moving back to it’s regular time? Undoubtedly there will be some ratings drop, but how much?

Warning Spoilers Follow

Last week it was revealed that Joe Carol survived the ending of the frist season. BIG SHOCKER RIGHT! Recently, James Purefoy recently spoke with TODAY about coming back from the dead:

“It would obviously be a very short TV series if I wasn’t (back). That’s the trouble. You want it to almost feel like he’s going to get caught, or he’s going to die, or something is going to happen. But the viewers like that he gets away.”
