'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast Rumors: Charlie Hunnam Smart to Leave 'Fifty?' On-Set Drama Claims

Rumors are always flying when it comes to the cast of the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie. After new reports, many are wondering if Charlie Hunnam was smart for leaving the Fifty Shades franchise. According to multiple stories, the film could be contending with some messy, on-set drama.

E.L. James, author of the highly-popular 50 Shades series is known for being outspoken and controversial. This time, however, it could come at a cost.

E! News, one of the more credible celebrity gossip sites, is reporting that EL James is fighting with the film's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. Apparently, it's getting a little too much for Taylor-Johnson to handle:

"Sam is getting annoyed about the way the script is being handled. E.L. James wants the movie to match the book exactly, but Sam has a different perspective. Sam is reminding E.L. she writes books and she makes movies. This has caused some tension between the two of them."

This isn't the only on-set trouble they've been having. While filming a scene that is supposed to take place on a rainy day, one neighbor thinks the take needs more cowbell:

"Neighbors at the building were upset over the noise and water flying everywhere. An older man continued to ruin scenes by opening his window and shaking a cowbell. He did not stop until they came to some sort of a resolution with producers."

With all of the recent mishaps, it's no surprise that fans are wondering if Charlie Hunnam was wise to drop out of the film.

Just weeks before filming was set to begin, the producers of the film announced that Charlie quit the role of Christian Grey (via Twitter):

"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."
