Earlier in the year, it was reported that we might see a Justice League movie immediately following Batman Vs Superman. However, with the Man of Steel 2 release date being pushed back to 2016, fans lost all hope of seeing the JL anytime soon. Although, new reports seem to suggest that the new movie could secretly be the Justice League . Could the film have been delayed to add bigger heroes?
When it was announced that Wonder Woman was joining up with the World’s Finest in Batman Vs Superman, speculation began that we might see a Justice League movie soon after. That speculation continued to grow when it was rumored that Cyborg, Aquaman and the Green Lantern might be in the movie.
However, when it was recently announced that the movie was being pushed back to 2016, all hopes of seeing a Justice League movie anytime soon were lost. Now, new reports seem to suggest that they have scrapped the whole Batman Vs Superman theme all together.
Kevin Smith who has already admitted to having some type of insider knowledge, recently speculated that that Man of Steel two might really be a secret Justice League movie. Smith made the assumption on his podcast, Fatman on Batman:
"So you've already got Batman, you've got Superman, you've got Wonder Woman. There's your trinity, right there. Then, there's a rumour that perhaps Aquaman is going to be joining the cast. And there's a rumour that the John Stewart Green Lantern will be joining the cast. So if that's the case kiddies, smells like we've got ourselves a secret Justice League movie brewing, so good for Zack Snyder and David Goyer."
