January can be a busy month for artists. If you're in the limelight--or if it's just starting to shine on you--then you are probably learning how to stomach the Oscars, Grammys, Super Bowl and other events worthy of stars and socialites.
However, for that other side of music, January is a time for wanderings into new musical endeavors.
Case in point: Arve Henriksen celebrates a new release this month with his Cosmic Creations album. The eight-song LP features the Norwegian trumpeter and multi-intrumentalist in his sibling record to Chron.
Cosmic Creations will feature the first soundings from his solo material of the last few years.
"Electronic and organic instruments are woven with indivisible distinction over eight pieces projecting an idiosyncratic hearing of jazz, avant-garde, ambient and modern classical. From sublime to chaotic, Cosmic Creation broaches a spectrum of emotions and sensations quite like little else," writes Boomkat.
Who knows? Maybe we'll get to hear yet another trumpet grace the speakers with flute-like precision.
