Idina Menzel Twitter Oscar Feud Demi Lovato; Cheating Taye Diggs Husband Divorce

It has already been a year of highs and lows for 42-year-old actress Idina Menzel. Frozen is still riding high at the box office, while the soundtrack holds the top slot on Billboard and theme song “Let It Go” has been nominated for an 86th Academy Awards Oscar. Fans of Menzel are starting a Twitter feud to let it be known that she should perform the song Oscar night, not Demi Lovato, who also performs a single version of the song on the soundtrack. Her divorce with cheating husband Taye Diggs moves forward, as he celebrates his freedom by taking multiple women home.

Menzel’s career is taking off this year. Frozen is making money hand over first, while she prepares to star in a new musical in Washington, D.C.

Now, the 86th Academy Awards have announced that Frozen’s theme “Let It Go”, written by Book of Mormon co-creator Bobby Lopez and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, is up to win one of the coveted gold statuettes.

It should be good news for everyone, but fans are taking to Twitter to let it be known that Menzel, not Demi Lovato, would be better performing the song Oscar night.

@jmallo appealed to reason and common sense, making the point that no one could sing the song better Menzel:

“And considering #LetItGo was written for Idina Menzel's voice, I think it's safe to say that she'll be singing it at the #Oscars. #TeamIdina”

Most people took a more impassioned approach, like @RunnerPrincess3, who threatened the Academy to bend to her will:

“If @idinamenzel isn't asked to sing “Let it go” at the Oscars, I'm not watching them #TheBestOfTheBest #TeamIdina #OnlyOneElsa”

What do you think? Should the song go to the lady who made it famous on film? Or should the let someone a little younger bring their own style to it? Let us know in the comment field below.
