Night at the Museum 3 may be nearly a year away, but the upcoming flick made headlines for recently bumping up their release date. This latest announcement comes after it was revealed that Rebel Wilson will be joining the cast of the film, which includes veterans Robin Williams, Steve Coogan and Ben Stiller.
Fans of the Night at the Museum series have reason to celebrate. The movie studio releasing the film just announced that it will be coming out one week earlier.
Instead of releasing on Christmas Day 2014, it will be hitting the big screen on December 19.
That's not the only news coming from the set. It was also revealed that Rebel Wilson will be joining the cast of the threequel.
According to Moviefone, the cast is sure to be star-studded:
"Deadline reports that Wilson will appear in Night at the Museum 3 as the nighttime security guard at the British Museum, the setting of the sequel to 2009's Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian. She joins Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan (Philomena), and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey)."
Unfortunately, not much else is known about the film. However, Moviefone did provide what little information is known:
"The plot is being kept under wraps for now, but much like the first two films, Stiller's security guard character will most likely interact with a host of historical characters that come to life when the museum closes for the night. The British Museum houses a bunch of cool artifacts, including the Rosetta Stone, one of the infamous statues from Easter Island, and several drawings by artists including Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo."
