If the current excitement surrounding the Honey Boo Boo family’s recent car accident is any indicator, then Season 3 should be a doozey. Alanna’s mom June, who acts as spokeswoman for the group, let it be known that everyone was fine, other than a few minor injuries, and ready to party following last week’s accident. The police department has announced today that family patriarch Sugar Bear Thompson was at fault in the accident.
It was announced at the time of the accident, that the Honey Boo Boo cast were victims of an over zealous driver, who ran a red light.
According to TMZ, however, the Milledgeville Police Department has placed the fault of the accident squarely on the shoulders of family chauffeur Sugar Bear:
“Investigators have determined Sugar Bear is to blame for the January 6th accident, because Sugar was behind the wheel and made an unsafe left turn in front of a truck when the two collided...the Boo Boo family admitted to seeing lights on the other vehicle, which means the burden to make a safe turn was on Mr. Bear.”
No laws were broken by Sugar Bear, so he doesn’t have to worry about any legal repercussions. All matters concerning the accident, if any, will have to be decided in civil court, if the other driver intends to seek reparations.
The family was shocked by the collision, but weren’t going to let it ruin their day, June told Fox News:
"It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck. We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin’s birthday. She turned 14 today, and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”
