Batman Vs Superman rumors have been taking up most of the internet as of late. However, there is still a little room left for some info on Fox’s upcoming Batman origin series, Gotham. New plot details have been released and they involve classic villains like the Joker and Penguin as well as a young Bruce Wayne. Meanwhile, a new casting rumor has emerged about James Gordon.
Marvel might be the king of the big screen, but DC has TV all sewn up . Between hit series Arrow and the newly announced Flash and Hellblazer series, DC plans to stay on top of the small screen for some time to come.
Move over Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fox’s Batman prequel series, Gotham is getting a lot of buzz as of late, thanks to a new announcement.
Kevin Reilly, Fox chairman, opened up about the new series at Fox’s Television Critics Association panel, telling the press:
"This is all of the classic Batman characters. It follows the arc of how they all became what they were. I've read the script its really good. It's going to be this operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality."
Meanwhile, a new casting rumor regarding James Gordon has popped up. Donal Logue, of Sons of Anarchy, E.R and Grounded for Life fame, was rumored to play the young Gordon. However, Logue later denied the rumor on twitter, writing:
“Not true! I wish-would be awesome (but who could top Gary Oldman?) From what I heard, Gotham catches Gordon in his late 20's”
The show is also reported to feature a 12-year-old Bruce Wayne and will supposedly end with him becoming Batman.
What do you think about the new announcement? What villains do you want to see show up in Gotham? Who do you think should play James Gordon in the new series?
