Rumors are always flying when it comes to the divorce of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Last week, it was rumored that Michael and Catherine might be back together. This week, however, a tabloid article is claiming that the cheating allegations were too much for the couple to withstand.
Things were looking better for the couple, when Star published photos of Mike and Cat shopping with their children. One source even told the publication that the duo is doing better than ever, following their time spent apart:
"Their time apart did them good...Catherine went off the rails and talked about ending their relationship for good. But Michael gave her the space she needed in order to fight her demons and evaluate if she really wanted to save their relationship. He knew she would come back around...Catherine has gotten herself healthier than she has been in a long time. They both look and feel better than they have in years, and they want to get back as a family unit."
Unfortunately that report varies greatly from others we've seen, including one from Celebrity Dirty Laundry.
The gossip site revealed that the couple might not be doing great, despite all of the photos which seem to show them healthy and happy:
"According to the January 20 print edition of National Enquirer, things did not go well at all. Michael is still trying but it was pretty clear that Catherine was just going through the motions. The one or two happy photos didn't balance out the pile of others that showed the couple looking sad and emotionally disconnected. Michael has finally realized that he can't save the marriage alone and that the love has just died on Catherine's end."
Luckily, the latest rumors come courtesy of National Enquirer, which is nearly always wrong.
Of course, they're not the only ones predicting disaster for the couple. After all, it was Star who published photos of Michael on what appeared to be a romantic vacation with a young woman who resembled Catharine:
"At first, everyone thought the woman was Catherine, especially with all the attention Michael was lavishing on her. But it wasn't. Michael and Catherine are living totally separate lives and are powering full steam ahead with the divorce."
