It certainly has been a good year for country music star Carrie Underwood, other than the accusations of cheating. On top of all the new opportunities coming her way, due to the success of her recent live musical, the 30-year-old has been named most successful of all American Idol alumni. Despite all the money and recent accolades, rumor has it that husband Mike Fisher wants a divorce.
Although Carrie Underwood’s recent performance of The Sound of Music on live television was panned by critics, tons of people tuned in.
Now, the reality star, who is reportedly taking acting lessons so she can one day win an Oscar, is getting another boost to her reputation by none other that Forbes magazine.
According to Forbes, Underwood took in $31 million between June 2012 and June 2013.
When you factor in album sales, 100 concert dates a year and juicy endorsement deals with the likes of Olay, the former American Idol winner has earned around $83 million in the past five years.
Not too shabby, especially if you consider that thanks to her recent television performance, the star is getting more and more offers to similarly big pay days.
That is precisely what has her husband, Nashville Predator's Mike Fisher, so upset.
The two had plans to start having children and growing their family. He thought those plans were just on hold while she prepared for the musical.
Now, she seems to be moving on to the next job, and they are drifting apart, a friend recently told Star:
“The ordeal left Mike feeling neglected and ignored...Mike is fuming. Carrie is thrilled about all the opportunities, but she’s very conflicted and confused. She and Mike are barely speaking.”
Well, at least she can be sure he’s not a gold digger.
