Jack Bauer Is Back in New Mini-Series, '24: Live Another Day'

You would think that after working for 194 hours, you would be able to take a good five years off before you had to hit the grindstone again, but not Jack Bauer. Four years after ending the hit real-time drama, 24, Kiefer Sutherland and the gang are coming back for a half day. Fox is reviving the show with a special mini-series, 24: Live Another Day.

24 ended its eight-season run back in 2010. At the time, Kiefer Sutherland released a press statement about the decision to end the hit series:

“This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible. While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted 24 to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon. This feels like the culmination of all our efforts from the writers to the actors to our fantastic crew and everyone at Fox. Looking ahead to the future, Howard Gordon and I are excited about the opportunity to create the feature film version of 24. But when all is said and done, it is the loyal worldwide fan base that made it possible for me to have the experience of playing the role of Jack Bauer, and for that I am eternally grateful.”

Jack Bauer, himself, Kiefer Sutherland, recently spoke to E! Online about why he decided to jump back into the series:

"The foundation for any of this is going to be the writing, I have such huge respect for Howard [Gordon, executive producer].If he says I don't think I should do it anymore, then we end it. If he says we should, then I'm going to say ‘OK, let's go,' so I'm very excited."

The new season will consist of 12 episodes--a half day--and will take place in London. The new series, 24: Live Another Day premieres on May 5 with a special two-hour episode.
