There has been another major update in the cast of the upcoming Warcraft movie, which is based on the successful game franchise of the same name. Looks like Daniel Wu will be joining Ben Foster and Toby Kebbell in the movie adaptation, which has already seen a pushed back release date.
IGN recently revealed that the film would not be releasing on the date the studio originally provided. The gaming website revealed to its readers:
"Universal announced today that the Duncan Jones-directed 3D fantasy action film--which was originally slated to open opposite Star Wars: Episode VII on December 18, 2015--has been rescheduled for a March 11, 2016 release."
In case you're not up on the series of video games after which the movie will be modeled, Wikipedia provides a helpful (sort of) synopsis of the flick:
"The film portrays the origin story of the initial encounters between the humans and the orcs, with an emphasis upon empathizing both the Alliance and Horde sides of their conflict. Featuring characters such as Durotan and Lothar, the film will take place in a variety of locations established in the video game series."
Does that clear things up for you? Me, either.
Dave McNary, film reporter for Variety, also made some news about the flick, when he reported about the newest casting details:
"Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have added American-Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu and Homefront thesp Clancy Brown to the cast of video game adaptation Warcraft."
What do you think about the latest revelations? Are you excited about the upcoming film? Do you think you can wait over two years to see the flick?
