“Beasts of the Southern Wild” Oscar Nominee Quvenzhane Wallis New Annie Contract Is Unprecedented

Firsts should come easy for you when you’re 10, but usually they are personal firsts, like telling someone that you like them or seeing the ocean, not firsts for an artcraft or an industry. Don’t tell that to Quvenzhane Wallis, breakout star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, the youngest person ever nominated for a Best Actress Oscar. And whatever you do, don’t tell that to her agent. He has negotiated the new Annie star an unprecedented contract for a person her age.

Not only is she going to will her salary of $750,000 to a cool 1.5 million if the remake clears $145 million domestically, but she stands to net five percent of overall take, along with ten percent of the money earned from sountrack, and five percent of the profits on all other merchandise reports TMZ.

And, it isn’t just money that she has coming her way.

While filming in New York City, the Louisiana native will be provided with all the amenities of a “private, first class trailer” and a personal chauffeur, approved by her, to cart her anywhere she wants to go.

Plus, there are the perks that money just doesn’t buy--like a guaranteed second spot on billing ahead of co-stars Jamie Foxx or Cameron Diaz.

Quvenzhane also gets final approval of all the scenes included in the blooper reel.

She even gets to keep her favorite duds from the show according to TMZ:

“They have to give her 3 dresses from which to choose and she gets to keep the one she wears. But one caveat--she can't sell or lend the garment to anyone.”

God only knows what’s in store for her if she wins the Oscar this time. The movie industry might not be able to afford her.
