It is shaping up to be a big year for Tom Hiddleston. The actor has a few new movies coming out this year, including The Muppets Most Wanted and Disney Pixie’s The Pirate Fairy. However, the most anticipated new film is his long awaited vampire movie, Only Lovers Left Alive. Now the indie film has an official UK release date. Meanwhile, Hiddleston’s most popular character, Loki, is about to get his own solo comic, Loki: Agent of Asgard.
It is going to be one busy year for Tom Hiddleston. Fangirls better start saving up, cause it is going to be one expensive year for movie tickets.
After winning pretty much every popularity contest of 2013, the actor is hitting 2014 hard. Not only can he be seen yucking it up alongside Kermit, Fozzie and the gang in the upcoming Muppets Most Wanted on the big screen, but he will soon be in your homes.
Hiddleston is expanding his reach onto the small screen, when he provides the voice for a young Captain Hook in Disney’s Pixie’s The Pirate Fairy.
For fans looking for a little more grown up version of Hiddleston, they might want to check out Only Lovers Left Alive. In the indie film, Hiddleston plays a suicidal vampire named Adam, opposite Tilda Swinton's Eve. The film's plot description, provided by Han Way Films, reads:
“Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangiers, an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover. Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is soon disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Can these wise but fragile outsiders continue to survive as the modern world collapses around them?”
The movie has a UK release date for February 21 and an expected April 11 release for the United States.
Still, fans might be itching for more Loki. The character is about to star in a brand new comic, Loki: Agents of Asgard. The comic comes out on February 5. The official synopsis reads:
“LOKI is back and craftier than ever as the All-Mother’s secret weapon against Asgardia’s strangest threats. With his serpent’s tongue, debonair charm, and taste for the uncanny, there’s no assignment Loki won’t take--including the untimely stabbing of THOR! The surprises only start here for the Prince of Lies, as the most conniving corners of the Marvel Universe are blown open this February in LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #1!”
