The actress was rumored to be back together with her The Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder. The pair spent Dobrev’s birthday together after sharing a kiss at the People's Choice Awards. However, Dobrev spent the holidays with her ex-boyfriend, Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough. So what rumor is true?
Nina Dobrev and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, are rumored to be back on again. The pair recently poked fun of their rollercoaster relationship at the People's Choice Awards, when they won the Award for Best Chemistry. After giving a mock awkward speech, they even shared a kiss.
Nina reportedly spent her birthday last week with Ian. Somerhalder also tweeted his affections for the starlet, writing:
“Happy Birthday @ninadobrev !!! The world loves you! We all do;) Enjoy the moment, enjoy the day,enjoy the year!”
However, Somerhalder might have to compete with Derek Hough once again this year. Dobrev recently spent the holiday hanging out with the Dancing with the Stars winner and his sister Julianne Hough. Dobrev and Hough briefly dated back in 2013. She is also best friends with Julianne Hough.
Dobrev and the Hough family went on a ski-vacation just before the holiday. She even performed a guest spot as a vampire in the family’s Christmas video.
Dobrev and Hough only dated for a brief part of 2013, before breaking things off. It was reported they broke up because of long distance, as The Vampire Diaries films in Atlanta and Dancing with the Stars is performed in L.A. However, it was also rumored they broke up because Dobrev was not over Ian Somerhalder.
