What does NBC’s intense hour long drama The Blacklist and FX’s animated comedy Archer have in common? Well in addition to them both being mega popular shows about secret agents, they will also be coming back with brand new episodes this Monday. The Blacklist, starring James Spader, comes back with the second half of it's first killer season at 10 p.m. The Blacklist will be competing against the Season 5 premiere of Archer on FX.
The highly anticipated return of The Blacklist is almost here, but the wait isn’t completely over. The second half will be split up because of the Winter Olympics. The show will first return on January 13 and run until February 7, when the Olympics will take over.
The Blacklist will once again return on February 24.
The Winter Olympics can cause an extra long hiatus for many shows, which has been known as a kiss of death in the past. However, The Blacklist has already been confirmed for a second season. NBC’s President of Entertainment, Jennifer Salke, made the announcement via a press release:
“The many layers of Red Reddington and his mysterious reasons for getting into bed with the FBI seem to be fascinating to fans of this show. With great talent like James Spader and Megan Boone on board, as well our stellar executive producers and the whole cast and crew, we believe this outstanding series will continue to make NBC a big destination on Monday nights.”
However, if you are looking to add a little more laughs and equal parts blood to your Monday viewing, then be sure to check out the fifth season premiere of Archer on FX.
With so many good shows on, it is a great time to own a DVR. What show will be getting your attention?
