Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier is just a few months months away from its theatrical release, and yet the film isn’t even finished. The movie went back into reshoots recently. Where it is not uncommon for a major motion picture to do some last minute fixing or filming to lessen the likelihood of spoilers. Now the newest rumor is that the movie is hiding one really big spoiler. Could Chris Evans die in the new movie?
***Warning: Spoilers for the comic series follow***
A few years back, Captain America was put on ice, meaning that he died...Well as dead as any comic book character really can be (except for poor Uncle Ben). The mantle of Captain America then went to Cap's former sidekick-turned-villain-turned-good again, Bucky Barnes
New promos for Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier show the titular villain wielding Captain America's shield. Could that merely be a nod to the character's comic book history or could it be a spoiler that Sebastian Stan will replace Chris Evans in the Avengers?
Where the plot line would follow the comic book ark, Celebitchy has recently reported that the reasons for the replacement could be because of on set problems with Chris Evans.
Could it be possible that Marvel is looking to get rid of Evans? Evans is immensely popular and has reportedly signed onto a six film contract.
In the new film, Frank Grillo plays Crossbones who, in the comics, is instrumental in the death of Steve Rodgers. Grillo recently spoke to Crave Online about signing a multi-picture deal:
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s an origin film. You meet people who are going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It’s almost like it’s a series. It’s fun. I can’t say very much about it because Marvel’s very strict about what you’re allowed to say. The movie, we’ve seen bits of it, and it is spectacular.”
Is this evidence that Rogers’ death might be in the works?
