The sometimes cagey Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, has been quite a bit more tight lipped about the pelvis that she fractured while skiing in Switzerland, than she was about her phone being monitored by the NSA.
Strong as an ox, Merkel didn’t realize she had injured her pelvis after the minor accident that occurred during the Christmas holiday. She must be use to a certain amount of pain down there. Whatever the case, she went to the doctor Friday to have the site examined.
There have been no precise statement about the time or place of the incident. Angela has only released comments, regarding the skiing accident, through her spokesman Steffen Seibert.
According to the BBC, he said that Merkel wasn’t moving very quickly at the time of impact and described her injuries as "severe bruising linked with a partial fracture on the left, rear part of the pelvis."
Merkel, who can now walk with the aid of crutches, has to lay down as much as possible over the next three weeks, according to doctors orders.
She cancelled a scheduled trip to Poland and will no longer be receiving Luxembourg's new prime minister Xavier Bettel at the capitol, says Seibert.
Though she will mostly be working from home, she still plans on heading a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, that will be the first gathering of all her new coalition ministers.
That sounds noble and everything, but maybe you should take the whole week off, while that dump truck heals up.
