The former star of TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, her Mom and the rest of the family are still a little shaken up after a car accident that occurred Monday evening. The family was transported to the hospital for care, but no one was critically injured.
The family’s cuddly miner patriarch, Sugar Bear Thompson, was making a turn, when a car, running a red light, suddenly hit the vehicle containing the Georgian clan.
Pumkin told TMZ that she had bruising on her chest, while her parents suffered from back pain, and Alana, who hit her head on a window, only had a headache.
Though they left the scene in an ambulance, TMZ reports they switched vehicles mid trip:
“Members of the family were taken to a local hospital...an ambulance showed up, but...the EMTs were going to take them to a hospital they didn't like so they went to another hospital in an SUV driven by their bodyguard.”
They might all be a little bit worse for the wear, but not enough to let it get in the way of a party. In a statement to Fox News, Mama June let it be known that nothing comes in the way of a birthday:
"It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck. We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin’s birthday. She turned 14 today, and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”
You are welcome.
