Scientology, the religion made famous by Tom Cruise, finds itself at the heart of another major trial. A major gossip site is claiming that Leah Remini is to be avoided in the upcoming court case. This latest update comes after Remini’s feud with longtime scientologist Kirstie Alley. Is there any truth to these claims?
According to Radar Online, the Church of Scientology doesn’t even want Leah Remini’s name mentioned in the upcoming trial, which involves former church member Marty Rathbun. The online gossip site reports:
“...during a recent court deposition of former church spokesman Tommy Davis, the mere mention of her name sent the church’s lawyers scrambling for silence, as they repeatedly told Davis he was not to answer questions about why she left the church.”
The site goes into further detail about the courtroom drama and explains exactly why Leah’s name was brought up in the first place.
According to the publication, an attorney was inquiring to an exchange that occurred between Leah Remini and David Miscavige, the head of the secretive religion.
When Leah happened to inquire where David’s wife was, as the two were friends and hadn’t seen each other for quite some time, she was allegedly told that she “didn’t have the f---ing rank to ask where Shelly Miscavige was.”
This latest development comes after her feud with Kirstie Alley was brought to light, when Alley granted an interview to radio broadcaster Howard Stern.
Kirstie defended her outrage with Leah’s perceived bigotry, as she told the shock jock:
"First of all, I just want everyone to know I have hundreds of friends who have come into Scientology and left Scientology. You're not shunned, you're not chased. All that stuff's bulls-t. When you're generalizing and when your goal is to malign and to say things about an entire group…when you decide to blanket statement that Scientology is evil, you are my enemy. I have blocked her on Twitter. Because she is a bigot. If someone was out there (attacking your religion) would they be your friend? They wouldn't be mine."
