Reese Witherspoon once again finds herself surrounded by rumors that she’s an alcoholic. The latest round of claims come after her drunken disorderly conduct charge and the subsequent release of the police tape from the night of her arrest. To make matters worse, she just took a huge loss when she sold her house.
Star recently published photos of Reese Witherspoon, where the actress appeared inebriated. Shortly after, the tabloid claims, Reese drove herself home from the establishment.
One of Reese’s alleged friends, however, took umbrage with the report and defended her drinking. According to the insider, Witherspoon’s drinking should be applauded:
“Reese is responsible when it comes to drinking. She won’t drive unless a few hours have passed. Reese loves a glass of wine or two. So what? She’s a grown woman, and that’s her right. She’s an excellent mother and businesswoman, so if she wants to have a few glasses of wine every now and then, good for her!”
Reese received even worse news when it was revealed that she took a major loss on her recent home sale. According to Today, she took quite the hit:
“Third time was the charm for Reese Witherspoon’s Ojai ranch. It took three price cuts before the retreat snagged a buyer, who paid just $4,983,500. Witherspoon paid $5.8 million for the home in 2008.”
Despite making a few of her own renovations, Reese had to drastically cut her initial listing price:
“When Witherspoon bought the home, she added her own design touches to the place, leading to magazine features of the ranch in both House Beautiful and Elle Décor. Shortly after the feature in Elle Décor, Witherspoon listed the home for $10 million. She ended up cutting the price to $8.9 million a few months later, then $7.25 million and, most recently, $5.9 million, before the home sold.”
